Windows Experience Index for Windows 8.1 Description

Windows Experience Index for Windows 8.1 is a small software application designed specifically for Windows 8.1 users in order to help them carry out benchmarks in order to get the WEI (Windows Experience Index) score.
The Windows Experience Index is embedded within Windows Vista and 7 for measuring the performance of your PC. The program is no longer available in Windows 8.1.

Portable utility

You can take advantage of the tool’s portability status and deploy it on USB flash drives or other devices. Gaining access to its GUI requires only opening the executable file, as you do not have to go through a normal installation process.
What’s more, you can get rid of it by deleting the executable file that you have downloaded from the Internet because the utility does not leave entries in your Windows registry.

Command-line GUI

Windows Experience Index for Windows 8.1 can be controlled via the command-line panel. The process is automatic so you do not need to write command-line parameters. A help manual is not included in the package but you can decode the program’s settings on your own.

How it works

When you run it, Windows Experience Index for Windows 8.1 automatically reveals the WEI total score, along with a subscore for each piece of hardware in your PC, namely processor, memory (RAM), graphics, gaming graphics, and hard disk. Pressing a single key (‘R’) helps you re-run the assessment.
The total score is not an average of the subscores but it actually represents the lowest individual subscore. Tests have shown that the app carries out a task quickly and without hampering your computer’s performance.

Final words

All in all, Windows Experience Index for Windows 8.1 delivers a straightforward software solution for helping you find out if it’s the case to upgrade some parts your PC or not. It is suitable for rookies and professionals alike.
