Windsor Ruins of Mississippi Screen Saver Description

The plantation of Windsor is long gone, but many of the Corinthian columns of the Greek Revival mansion are still standing. Go back to 1861 when the mansion was completed and exalted over the surrounding landscape, overlooking the Mississippi River. Imagine what it looked like from the observation deck as Confederate and Union solders fought towards victory during the Civil War. Windsor survived the Civil War, but burned to the ground by an accidental fire in 1890. Today, Windsor is a tourist attraction, mostly for those traveling along the Natchez Trace Parkway.
