WinsockServicesView Description
WinsockServicesView gives you the possibility to study information about the Winsock service providers installed on your system, as well as to enable or disable services. These contain configuration details about input and output requests for software applications with Internet access.
No installation necessary
The app doesn't require setup. It's packed in a single executable file that can be saved anywhere on the disk or on a USB flash drive, in order to directly launch it on any PC. Worth noting is that it doesn't need DLLs and doesn't create new entries in the Windows registry; it remembers your settings at exit.
Examine and control Winsock services easily
As far as the interface is concerned, WinsockServicesView adopts a clean and intuitive window, where the Winsock services are automatically identified and listed at startup, so you can check out their display name, status (enabled or disabled), provider ID, DLL type (32- or 64-bit), file's full path, description, version and company, along with the last modification time in the registry and file, file creation time, and size.
One or more selected services can be enabled or disabled. Moreover, you can use a basic search function to find a specific service, show grid lines, hide any columns, display time in GMT, as well as copy or save information to text, CSV, HTML or XML format.
Evaluation and conclusion
It worked smoothly in our tests, without triggering the OS to hang, crash or prompt error messages. Unsurprisingly, CPU and RAM consumption was minimal, so it didn't put a strain on the overall performance of the machine.
To sum it up, WinsockServicesView facilitates a user-friendly interface and options for studying Winsock service information, saving it to file, and enabling or disabling these kind of services. It can be handled by anyone.
