Xmix Player

XMIX Player is a easy-to-use audio player which allows users to listen their favorite music. It read most standard formats (MP3, OGG, WAV, tracker module, ...) locally or from the Web (streaming) . LastFM flow are also decoded. The interface can be easily customized with the integrated skin editor in order to get an interface tuned to your needs.
Innovation is not common in audio player softwares. Most of them add extra features like encoding, CD/DVD burning, video reading, a multimedia focus that can be interresting, but within the risk to propose a "heavy" software.
The consequence of this fashion is that very few software focus only on audio playing. Nevertheless, with the huge possibilities offered by a computer today, there is a lot to do. This is the goal of the XMIX project : to transform a standard computer into an audio exploring toolkit. Cornerstone of the futur platform, XMIX player is designed for people searching a basic and efficient player but also for curious in quest of innovative projects in the current jungle of audio players.
