XNResourceEditor Portable Edition

This is the portable edition of XNResourceEditor - a tiny but powerful tool that has a bunch of features for exploring PE modules (EXE, DLL, BPL, SCR, CPL, OCX), Compiled Resource files (RES, DCR) and Resource Source files (RC). It is simple to use.
Since installation is not necessary, you can just drop XNResourceEditor on any location of the hard drive and directly run it, as long as you have administrative rights.
Alternatively, you can copy the app to a USB flash drive or similar storage unit and run it on any computer. What needs to be mentioned is that Windows Registry does not receive new updates and no files are left behind on the hard drive after program removal. Plus, you can carry XNResourceEditor in your pocket whenever you're on the go.
The app's GUI is based on a common window with a well-organized layout. Adding a file to the workspace is done by using only the file browser, since the "drag and drop" method is not supported.
Aside from viewing the contents of internal files, you may use standard drawing tools for Bitmap pictures, copy text to the Clipboard and grab pictures, add new resources (e.g. cursor or icon group, dialog, menu, string table, toolbar, accelerator), as well as undo and redo actions.
From the Options screen you may choose a different font for displaying and editing resources, together with the parser to use when Windows is loading modules, as well as pick another method for determining the “Include” path for the RC file compilation.
XNResourceEditor is pretty low-demanding when it comes to the CPU and system memory, contains a help file and has a good response time. Unfortunately, several error notifications have popped up during our evaluation, preventing us from processing some items. But we must remember that the app has not been updated for a while. Other than that, XNResourceEditor provides a user-friendly environment for exploring PE modules.
