yNotes Portable

Built as the portable counterpart of yNotes, this small and ultra-simplistic software application lets you add notes to the desktop, whether they concern important upcoming events, appointments, to-do lists or others.

Portability advantages

Since there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the executable file in any part of the hard disk and just click it to run.
There is also the possibility to save yNotes to a USB flash disk or similar removable storage unit, in order to run it on any PC effortlessly, as long as it has .NET Framework installed.
An important factor worth taking into account is that the Windows registry and Start menu do not get updated with new entries, and no extra files are created on the disk, leaving it clean after removal.

Easily create notes

All you have to do is write text, give a title to the note and save it with the click of a button. It is possible to create as many notes as required, delete them, and view all of them in the main menu. Apart from the fact that you can check for updates and view log data, there are no other noteworthy options available here.

Evaluation and conclusion

No error dialogs were shown in our tests, and yNotes did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. It worked smoothly while having a minimal impact on computer performance, using low CPU and RAM. Although it is not feature-rich, yNotes gets the job done and can be used by anyone with ease.
