aBackup2 is a software utility designed to help you back up your folders and save them to a desired location as ZIP files. It can be used to secure your important documents in case of data loss or theft.

Not so visually appealing

The application comes with a dull interface and has no options to make it more visually appealing. It may be difficult to figure out how it works, since the window and options are not intuitive, and the help section is not very useful, especially if you're new to backup tools. It lets you create multiple backup tasks with different settings.

Main functionality

Once the folders are imported, you can view details, such as last backup date, number of files, and total size. aBackup2 is capable of running all backup jobs at the same time, or just the selected one.
Backup jobs can be scheduled to run automatically. Alternatively, they can be manually started whenever you want. More than that, you can prevent the tasks from launching within a specified time interval.

Additional features

Backup filters can be set to include only the specified files and exclude the others, or to remove the selected ones and automatically include the others.
Details about previous backup sessions are listed in the main panel, such as the full path of the backed up item, its new location, along with the date and time.
Last but not least, you can assign passwords, leave a personalized message when the task is done, and restore your items to the original or another location.

To sum it up, aBackup2 is a program that lets you back up your folders, schedule automatic tasks, assign passwords, and much more. Jobs were executed quickly in our tests, while system resources were minimally used. However, it may take a while to get accustomed to it.
