After Boot File Viewer Description

Right after Windows finishes loading all of its services and processes, extra content is prepared before you reach the desktop, so that everything you need is ready. These items can be viewed and managed inside the Task Manager, but in case you find it too difficult, you can rely on easier alternatives like After Boot File Viewer.

Perks of a portable app

One particular advantage here is the lack of a setup process. This not only allows you to take it for a spin as soon as download is done, but also makes it possible to carry it on a thumb drive to use on other computers. What’s more, registry entries are not altered in the process, so you don’t have to worry about affecting the health status of the target PC.
You don’t have to wait any time for the application to scan your computer for startup items, because these are displayed as soon as the main window shows up on the desktop. The visual design doesn’t pose any accommodation problems for individuals of any level of experience, so you can instantly tell what programs run when you reach the desktop.

Leaves much to be desired

All detected items are shown in an organized table, with a couple of columns showing program label, as well as exact path. Even though the window can’t be resized for a more comfortable view, the application does come with horizontal and vertical scrollbars so you can easily navigate through the list.
Unfortunately, the application’s practicality is highly questionable because of several reasons. On the one hand, it’s not really capable of detecting all startup items. On the other hand, there are no management options, not even the possibility to copy the program path in order to take matters into your own hands, let alone disable them or add new items to the list.

To sum it up

All things considered, we come to the conclusion that After Boot File Viewer is heavily underprepared to handle startup items, even though this is not really the core purpose. Sure enough it can provide a clear list of items which run with Windows, but not all of them, which heavily affects overall practicality.
