DucoCheck Description
Your computer knows when files finished downloading, checking their integrity through different sets of code. Any minor change of any kind to a file and the code changes. The item in question here is the checksum value of a file, which can be of different formats. To easily reveal it for your files, DucoCheck neatly integrates in the context menu.
Pay attention to the setup process
The application needs to take you through a setup process so it can integrate in your system without any issues. However, you need to be careful every step of the way, because there are extra offers which might also deploy extra components you don’t necessarily need or want on your computer.
Running the application brings up a pretty small window, letting you know what you can obtain, and how to do this. Context menu entries are not automatically created, so you need to use the main window in this regard. It’s best to run it with administrator privileges to be able to add the new entries.
Automatic, or manual code saving
You can choose to add options to check the MD5 and CRC32 codes. Additionally, the application can be set to automatically send the generated code to clipboard so you can instantly paste it wherever needed. Needless to say that it’s best to save after each process, since there’s only one usable clipboard slot.
Although there are two possible entries in the context menu, they’re not grouped together. You easily identify them by the name shown in the application’s window. If you don’t enable automatic clipboard copy, a small popup window shows up with the file path, and an editable field containing the requested checksum value.
A few last words
In conclusion, DucoCheck is a fast way of calculating either the MD5 or CRC32 hash value for any file on your computer. Context menu integration provides a great deal of flexibility, especially if used with the automatic copy option, making it deserve a try overall.
