AirFM

AirFM is an Adobe Air-based software application whose purpose is to help you access a wide variety of online radio stations and listen to them directly from the program’s interface thanks to the integrated player. It comes packed with more than 200 channels.

Clean design

The tool impresses with an intuitive layout where all features are well organized. A help manual is not available but you can set up the dedicated parameters on your own because they look easy to work with.

Radio station management features

The application offers you the option to browse throughout the entire collection of radio channels directly from its interface. Radio stations are organized with the aid of preset categories, such as Anime, Classic, Electro, Latino, Retro, Rock, and Jazz.
You may also perform searches to quickly identify an entry in the list, easily connect to different radio stations, play or stop the current radio channel, jump to the next or previous station, as well as view cover images.
What’s more, you are allowed to create a list with all your favorite channels so you can access them on the fly. Adding a new station can be done by providing information about the title and URL or adding a custom M3U or PLS playlist, as well as assigning a user-defined icon.
AirFM is not a resource hog so you do not have to worry that it burdens the overall performance of the computer. On the downside, it has not been updated for a while so you may bump into compatibilities issues on newer operating systems. We have tested it on Windows 8.1 Pro and noticed that it is not able to access all the channels displayed in the main panel.

Conclusion

All in all, AirFM has to offer a handy suite of features but it still needs functionality improvements in order to be called a reliable Internet radio player.
