Aistra resizer Description
The larger a picture is, the more space it takes up, even though quality is increased along with size. However, you don’t necessarily need the highest quality for specific pictures, depending where they’re used. In case you encounter limitations regarding size, you can rely on specialized applications like Aistra resizer.
Can be used on the go
A cool thing about it is flexibility. In other words, you’re saved the entire effort required to invest in a setup process, which means you can carry it with you at all times. However, the application doesn’t function unless .NET Framework is installed on the computer you decide to use it on. Don’t worry, the health status is not affected, because registry entries remain intact.
All it has to offer is found in a classic window frame. A browse dialog needs to be used to select the folder where all pictures you want to resize are located. Unfortunately, individual selection of files is not possible, so it’s a good idea to first bundle only those pictures you’re sure you want resized inside an individual folder.
Good, but far from being a pro
Note that you’re only able to process JPG pictures. Original items are altered, so create a backup before the operation starts. You can choose the output picture quality from a drop-down menu. You also need to set the image resample mode, which can either be high quality bicubic, bilinear, or nearest neighbor.
Unfortunately, there’s little control over size values themselves. This is because you only need to specify the long side in pixels, with no option to set custom width and height values. On the other hand, this keeps picture aspect ratio intact.
A few last words
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that Aistra resizer is a pretty straightforward resizing tool. File support isn’t great, but allows you to process popular formats. The only downside is the lack of better options to set output size values.
