alltoavi

alltoavi is a tool with a pretty self-explanatory name - it lets you turn video clips of multiple formats (e.g. OGM, MKV, FLV) into Audio Video Interleave items.
The interface of the program is based on a standard window. Video clips can be imported into the file list by using either the file browser or folder view (the 'drag and drop' functionality is not included). It is possible to create multiple jobs, in order to process multiple items in batch mode.
So, you can specify the output directory and filename prefix, as well as configure audio and video settings in regard to the screen size, encoder, bit rate and subtitle (e.g. manually position the subtitle).
Additionally, you can use Audio Stream Copy and PCM for sound, force no-skipping frames and resampling, as well as set alltoavi to skip existing files. Plus, you can switch to 'restrictive mode' as well as preview clips in a media player.
The video conversion program runs on a moderate amount of CPU and system memory, in order to finish a task quickly. It has a good response time and manages to deliver videos with a good image and sound quality. We have not come across any issues during our tests.
On the downside, alltoavi does not allow you to initialize a conversion task by using the default settings, so you need to have some minimal experience with video encoding tools. Plus, you cannot specify the thread priority or customize the number of CPU cores to be used. There is no help file available. No recent updates have been made.
