Alphabix Portable

Alphabix Portable is a useful tool for creating, editing and exporting bitmap fonts to various formats. It features an intuitive interface and allows you to export your creations to formats that can be used in BluffTitler and for web design.

Convert vector fonts and images to bitmap fonts

This application allows you to convert standard TrueType, OpenType and Type 1 fonts to bitmap fonts. All you need to do is open a new window, select any font installed on your system, choose which characters you wish to convert, then export them to a format of your choice.
Bitmap fonts, also known as image or raster fonts, use pictures to represent glyphs and contain color information. They are much more detailed than standard vector fonts, which don't allow very complex shapes and fine details.

Edit glyphs or replace them with images

Alphabix Portable enables you to edit individual glyphs, by determining the spacing before and after them, the location of the baseline and the cap height.
You can replace glyphs with pictures of various formats (PNG, GIF, BMP, JPG or TIF) and the application automatically imports alpha channels.
Additionally, you can use the included kerning editor to adjust the space between specific pairs of glyphs, bringing them closer together or spacing them further apart.

Export created fonts to various formats

Alphabix Portable allows you to save your creations in multiple forms. They can be saved as BF files, which can be opened with BluffTitler, to be used for creating 3D animations.
You can also export each glyph as a single PNG file or to HTML, so that they can be used on various websites.
Moreover, you can export cut-outs to create letter cubes. All you need to to is enter the characters you wish to export and the program automatically aligns them so that, once printed, they can be applied to a cube.
