Portable Inkscape Description
This is the portable edition of Inkscape, a professional vector graphics editor backed up by a clean and intuitive working environment, designed for users who prefer a simpler alternative to Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw.
After extracting the program files to any directory on the hard disk, you can click the executable to run. It means that you can also store Portable Inkscape on a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any workstation without prior installers.
What's more, it does not add new entries to the Windows registry, Start menu or other area of the hard disk.
The user-friendly interface offers quick access to standard and professional drawing tools, such as zoom, freehand lines, text objects, path editing (by nodes) and object tweaking (by sculpting or painting). Evidently, it is possible to perform tweaks for each function.
Inkscape works with numerous popular file types, such as PNG, EPS, EMF, SWG, WMF and vector-based formats. You can import external drawings, edit document metadata, locate text objects, duplicate items, edit XML code, switch to full screen mode for an enhanced workspace, work with multiple layers, as well as manipulate objects (e.g. flip, rotate, filters), to name just a few notable features.
The complex application is lighter on system resources compared to similar tools, has a good response time, and offers multilingual and toolbar customization support. We haven't come across any issues throughout our tests, as the utility was stable and didn't cause the OS to hang or crash.
To sum it up, Inkscape proves to be a strong candidate when it comes to top vector editing tools, since it boasts an impressive range of options and configuration parameters, in addition to an intuitive interface.
