AntFileConverter Description
If you are using advanced linguistic analysis tools, then there is a chance that you could not work with the large texts mainly because they were not available in the right format.
AntFileConverter is a lightweight tool designed to help you convert PDF or Word files to plain text documents that can be employed with corpus tools.
Packs a minimalistic yet user-friendly interface
The setup is a quick and straightforward operation that does not take long and does not require any special attention from your part. Upon launch, you come face to face with a plain and simplistic interface that features two tables.
While in the left tab you can preview the files that are about to be processed, in the right tab you can check out the completion status. In case you are working with dozens of files, then you will be happy to learn that the tool displays the total number of input and output files above their dedicated tabs.
Add the desired files and hit the Start button
Functionality-wise, the program is as simple to use as it looks, meaning that you solely need to add the desired file and the application does the rest. As previously mentioned the app can currently convert PDF and Word documents only.
It is worth mentioning that the application automatically uses the name of the original file when creating the plain text document. It would have been nice if the tool came with a function that enabled you to chance the filename as well as the output directory where the documents are created.
A handy tool for linguists and anyone working with corpus tools
In the eventuality that you are working or studying languages or perhaps you have a project that entails analyzing a large text that you have in Word or PDF format, then AntFileConverter can help you convert it to an appropriate format.
