AntPConc Description
AntPConc is an advanced linguistic tool that enables you to perform parallel text and concordance analysis that lets you thoroughly examine multiple text documents at the same time.
Does not require setup and includes a clean UI
First off, you should know that the application does not need installation or configuration, so you can use it as soon as you download it to your computer. The program comes with a minimalistic, yet clean and user-friendly interface.
The GUI consists of two main sections, namely the Settings area where you can select the desired options and the display area which permits you to view results with color-coded highlighting. As far as the options are concerned, you can specify the search term, number of entries, the corpus that the analysis should be performed, page size, type of fort and context size.
Allows you to build and add numerous corpora
The idea behind the application is to help you run a parallel corpus analysis, an operation that you can perform in a few simple steps. Before you can make the actual comparison, first you need to access the Corpus Builder from the File menu and select the raw text files that you want to analyze. You should keep in mind that each line should be aligned with the other line in the raw text.
You should know that the utility permits you to name each corpus as you wish, an option that can surely come in handy if you need to perform the analysis for your research or project, for instance. The program allows you to build an internal database with the parallel corpus you created or save it using the DB extension.
A handy utility for building and analyzing parallel corpora
All in all, if you are studying linguistic or you need a tool that allows you to make concordance and text analysis from two or more text documents, then perhaps AntPConc could lend you a hand.
