Any Weblock Description
Any Weblock is a lightweight software application whose purpose is to help you restrict other users’ access to certain websites.
It can be used for parental control purposes, as it is able to block user-defined webpages, or for protecting your computer from malicious websites that may affect your system security.
It sports a clean and simplistic layout that allows you to set up the dedicated parameters with minimum effort.
Any Weblock gives you the possibility to specify the websites that are blocked by the tool, insert additional subdomains, and remove or modify the selected ones.
What’s more, you are allowed to export data to XML file format, import information from XML or plain text files, as well as encrypt the information by setting up passwords.
It is recommended to restart your web browser and clear the cache for making sure the changes are applied correctly to your computer. Since it doesn’t require much computer knowledge to work with this tool, even rookies can set up the dedicated parameters with minimum effort.
However, more experienced users may find it pretty inconvenient to work with an app that doesn’t feature advanced functions, as you cannot create whitelists and blacklists, schedule the blocking process to a user-defined time, and receive sound or email notifications when users try to access the blocked website.
During our testing we have noticed that the blocking operation is carried out very quickly, and no errors showed up throughout the entire process. It doesn’t put a lot of stress on CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered.
All things considered, Any Weblock seems to be the right choice in case you are looking for an easy-to-use tool that comes bundled with only a few configuration settings for helping you block inappropriate or malicious websites.
