Astor's AlarmClock Description
Astor's AlarmClock is a small software application whose purpose is to help you set up alarms in order to receive notifications upon important events.
In order to run the program correctly and avoid bumping into all sorts of errors, you need to deploy Microsoft .NET Framework on the target computer.
Easy-to-decode layout
You are welcomed by a clean and simple environment that allows you to configure the dedicated parameters with ease. A help manual cannot be found in the package but you can manage to tweak the settings on your own because they look easy to work with.
You can appeal to tooltips in order to check out short descriptions about the program’s functions. Tooltips are automatically revealed each time you hover your mouse cursor over a specific parameter.
Configuration settings
Astor's AlarmClock gives you the possibility to set up a brand-new alarm by specifying the time in hours and minutes. What’s more, you can enable or disable the alarms.
You are offered the freedom to create a list with playlists by importing audio files from M3U file format. The playlist songs can be used as audio notifications when an alarm is triggered.
What’s more, you are allowed to play a random song from the playlist when the alarm is on and enable the progressive mode in order to activate the alarm starting with a low volume and boosting it gradually.
Other important setup parameters worth being mentioned enable you snooze the alarm, hide the list with playlist songs, import MP3 files from your computer or add the content of an entire directory, as well as manually specify the sleep, awakening, and snooze length in minutes.
Astor's AlarmClock is not a resource hog so you can keep it running in the background without worrying that it eats up CPU and memory resources. On the downside, it has not been updated for a long time so you may encounter all sorts of errors on newer operating systems. For example, we have experienced some crashes on Windows 8.1 Pro.
Final remarks
All things considered, Astor's AlarmClock comprises several basic and straightforward features for helping you configure alarms, and is suitable especially for rookies.
