aType Description
When working on a strenuous project or brainstorming topics for another one, you might come up with ideas that you need to quickly write down, otherwise you might forget about them.
aType is a very simplistic and intuitive applications that can help you make sure this does not happen, that is, that you get to jot down your thoughts before they go away.
Note taking app for Windows XP
Although Windows XP reached its end of life and it will no longer receive any updates or security patches, it remains one of the most popular operating systems in the world, and this is probably why aType runs smoothly only on this OS.
Additionally, you need to install .NET Framework 3.5 on your PC so as to get the most out of this application (if it is not detected on the host computer, aType offers to install it as well during its own installation).
The graphic interface is highly intuitive and minimalistic, featuring some resemblances to the good old Notepad, so you can easily paste or type your thoughts then save them as a note.
Insert the date, time and your name in the created note
You can customize your newly-saved note with the current date and time, which can come in handy if you want to use it throughout several days, until you finish working on your project. This way, you can easily detect which entries were added in which days.
Additionally, you can insert your custom name in the note - the default name is the one of your PC account, but you can personalize it to your liking.
aType also comes with a complementary utility that displays the current time and date, as accurately as your computer does it.
Conclusion
All in all, aType can prove to be useful for all those who are looking for a quick way to type ideas, yet its simplicity is likely to drive away the more experienced users.
