AutoCAD Freestyle Description
AutoCAD Freestyle is a compact drawing application which you can use to create professional-looking, multipurpose layout and plans. It addresses all users who want to get a glimpse of the professional program, AutoCAD.
Upon deployment you can establish the measurement unit and size for the drawing. The app's interface is clean, stylish and user-friendly, while providing guidance to users every step of the way.
So, you can assign symbols from a rich library, which revolves around doors and windows, appliances, transportation, electricity, and so on.
Furthermore, you can fill shapes with colors from libraries (basic, earth tones, vibrant), create and navigate multiple layers, as well as toggle between precision and sketch overlay modes.
It is possible to draw lines, rectangles, circles, arcs and doodles, set dimensions, add text, insert pictures, zoom in and out, use a pan tool, erase lines, as well as cut, copy and paste content. Projects can be saved to files with the DWF or DXF format.
A few configuration settings are available for this program. For example, you can optimize interaction when using the finger as the input device, hide the grid or make the app snap to grid, as well as adjust the curvy level for the doodle tool (rougher or smoother). Settings can be applied to all new drawings.
AutoCAD Freestyle uses a very high amount of CPU and system memory, has a good response time to key strokes and mouse events, and is pretty stable. We have not come across any difficulties throughout our evaluation, since the app did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. To sum it up, AutoCAD Freestyle comes equipped with some simple-to-use yet powerful tools for creating professional-looking 2D drawings.
