Back2zip Description
Back2zip is a lightweight and simplistic program designed to create a ZIP backup from your folders. It can be easily handled by both first-time and advanced users.
The interface of the tool is uncomplicated and intuitive. Folders can be imported into the list by using either the tree view or 'drag and drop' functionality. Processing multiple items at the same time is possible.
The folder list displays the location and archive name of each item. Once you have imported items you can immediately create a backup with the simple click of a button.
Back2zip also allows you to open the output directory, schedule backup updates (between 20 minutes and 6 hours) and check out a logging section (e.g. time and date of last backup).
From the 'Options' area you can check for program updates, specify the archive compression mode (e.g. ZIP with maximum compression), set the duration for backup storage (between one and 14 days), make Back2zip automatically run at system startup, as well as increase or decrease the text display size. Plus, Back2zip can be minimized to the system tray.
The program requires a low amount of system resources, has a good response time, includes a help file and quickly finishes a task without freezing, crashing or popping up error dialogs. We have not across any difficulties during our testing; Back2zip did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. Nevertheless, its interface is outdated.
