Backup Aider

Backup Aider is a desktop software tool built to help you back up and save your private datato a specified location using one of the available compression types. It can be used to secure your important documents in case of data loss or theft.

Straightforward design

The application is wrapped in a simple and clean interface. Even though it's complex, the intuitive wizard guides you through all the necessary steps to save your files, so there should be no configuration issues for any kind of users, even beginners.
During the backup process, a progress bar is shown to inform you about the completion percentage of your task. It had a good compression speed and worked without errors in our tests.

Main functionality

New tasks can be created by specifying the title, source directories, destination folder, archive name and one of the available compression types: ZIP or SFX, or no compression at all (just copy the files). If the specified output directory doesn't exist, it will be auto-created by the utility during the backup process.
More than that, tasks can be scheduled by picking the starting time and type (daily, weekly or monthly).

Other features

Backup Aider lets you set backup filters to eliminate names with certain file extensions or to store files with the requested formats.
You can set passwords to protect you files, ask the tool to automatically delete the old archived files, modify the archive file name on each backup, and indicate the compression level (ranging from level 1 fastest to level 9 slowest). Last but not least, you can clone your tasks and view a log file after the job is done.
