@BIOS

@BIOS is Gigabyte’s proprietary software especially designed for upgrading or downgrading the BIOS of your computer’s Gigabyte motherboard. Well, even though hardware companies have always looked for faster, easier methods to achieve such things, not all users have been impressed with their efforts and still chose to do it the old way.
They say that nothing can go wrong if you download the BIOS that you need, the latest version or any other version of your very own choice, specifically the one for your mainboard model (make sure you get it right and even check for revision variants), put it on a diskette (if you still own a diskette drive) or any other removable drive, boot into MS-DOS and then perform the actions within this safe environment, using old, but prestigious BIOS flashing utilities.
If you are not one of these users, then you just might give @BIOS a chance and use it to do that clearly tedious job in a shorter period of time. You must make sure, though, that your operating system is stable and that it cannot surprise you by causing a crash during the flashing operation. That always ends up bricking your motherboard and then you have to find the material as well as the human resources to revive it.
Moreover, make sure you have no other application running besides @BIOS as you work with it. By this, we also recommend you turn off your antivirus software to ensure maximum headroom for the program. At this point in time, it may seem that this is already not faster than the old procedure, but this happens only the first couple of times you use it, until you completely get the hang of it.
Choosing to update the BIOS file directly from the Gigabyte server means that your Internet connection must not be tampered with in this particular interval, thus we advise you to update the BIOS from a file that you already have downloaded from dedicated section of your specific motherboard on the Gigabyte support area website.
You can also choose to deploy the current BIOS of your computer’s mainboard to a location of your choice, as a backup. @BIOS allows you to select the option for loading the CMOS default settings once the BIOS update takes place. AS a side note, we encourage you to rigorously use it and then set up your BIOS once more.
All in all, @BIOS can prove to be a great tool for a fairly risky job, as many Gigabyte owners have stated on various tech forums. While MB bricking may seem to be the result you get from @BIOS, making sure you have everything set up properly before starting the flash process is imperative as it can make the difference between success and failure.
