ByteDesigner is a powerful program that offer a series of tools for professional database designing. The application provides you with the means to create several types of ERD-based database structures and SQL queries. Moreover, it features integrated SQL editor and ODBC data sources.

Easily design database structures

ByteDesigner allows you to design a series of database structures, such as logical models, conceptual models and physical models, from custom templates. The software allows you to create specific physical models suitable for a series of database managers: Gupta SQLBase, Oracle, SQL92, PostgreSQL, ODBC, MySQL, MS SQL, Firebird or DB2.
The split working area allows you to control several elements at the same time. For instance, the editing area is where you can manually create the ERD structure, by adding entities, relationship indicators, inheritance, rules or data items.The panels on the left allow you to view all the elements in a workspace, as well as the ODBC data source you are using.

SQL editor at close hand

ByteDesigner features an integrated SQL editor, which enables you to create scripts and run them. The information area at the bottom of the window is dedicated to displaying the results of queries, data validation, file import or reverse engineering.
Aside from creating databases, the application allows you to also reverse engineer the selected structures or import tables from other schemas. Reverse engineering an existing database implies creating a physical model by querying the selected schema. Thus, you may extract only the elements that are useful to your project.
The ODBC administrator allows you to create one or more ODBC DSNs, by establishing a connection to the designated data provider (for example dBASE, Excel, MS Access Database).
