Catch Up TV Plus

Catch Up TV Plus is an application that is meant to bring you the latest HD feeds and shows that are released on BBC, Hulu, MTV, Bravo, CNN and other media giants.
With a description like that you’d think that it’s a multimedia application that streams the shows directly from the websites and displays them in its interface. In fact, it’s a logo based menu that just connects you to the websites where you have to look for the shows you want to watch.
Running the application you basically get a big window (which you can’t resize) that has a bunch of icons just plastered on a background with no obvious arrangement. And that’s just about it. It does however allow you to access and use an online virtual private network (VPN). This actually comes in handy since the access to most of the channels that are made available is restricted to you if you’re not in the USA. The VPN can help you bypass this issue at the expense of your bandwidth.
The application also displays two clocks that serve no real purpose. Since you can’t switch the application to full-screen you might as well look at the clock displayed in the Windows Taskbar. You can however use them to tell the time until a show is released on the websites it connects you to. And since Catch Up TV Plus doesn't offer you a schedule of any kind, you have to visit the website itself to check for new releases.
All-in-all, Catch Up TV Plus has at its core a good idea but the way it works makes it highly impractical. You’d be just as well simply bookmarking all the websites in your browser and checking up on them from time to time.
