Christmas in New York Description
Christmas tends to bring out the best in people and with some of the goodness also comes a certain degree of impatience.
Christmas in New York is a little desktop app that displays an animated postcard of the New York skyline while also counting down the days left until Christmas.
Its a lightweight application that doesn’t use a lot of system resources. While running, it occupies a decent portion of your screen, not too big, not too small but just enough to clearly see all the details in the image. You can’t resize it so what you get is what you see. And speaking of, you get to view a well animated day-night cycle created in the form of a time lapse.
You can see the day turn into night and night into day while the Sun, clouds and Moon, move across a sky full of digital snowflakes. The the detail rendering and animation quality are very good which make Christmas in New York pleasing to the eye.
Besides counting the days to Christmas, you can set the application to display the days left until New Year or the Julian Christmas. If you want to simply enjoy the mini view of New York, then you can select to hide the day counter. You are able to choose the speed of the animation along with the transparency level. Switching off the snow fall animation is also possible.
Christmas in New York is by all means a nice little app to have on your computer to brighten up your desktop and get you a bit anxious about Christmas and New Year.
