To start with, you will need to load the files or directories that you want to secure from prying eyes. This can only be done by drag and dropping the items onto the main window of the application, as the old fashion way of browsing through your system is not available.
CodeInventors NCrypt uses the AES256 encryption algorithm, yet allows you to define the key that will be used to lock and unlock the protected files. The ‘Original File’ menu lets you decide what to do with the source documents, whether to ‘Keep’, ‘Send to Trash’, ‘Delete’ or ‘Wipe Then Delete’. From the ‘Preferences’ section of the utility, you can further increase the level of protection by deleting or wiping the source items through several passes.
When clicking on the ‘Start’ button, the files will automatically be processed and exported to the source location, with a ‘ci_encrypted” extension. To decrypt such an object, you simply need to perform the same steps as when you locked it.
