CookTimer Description
CookTimer is a small Windows application designed specifically for helping you use a countdown timer in order to check out how much time you spend doing different tasks. It comprises several preset time values which are useful especially when cooking or making tea.
The advantages of being portable
Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.
You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to work with a countdown timer on the breeze, without having to go through installation steps.
Minimalistic looks
You are welcomed by a clean feature lineup that empowers you to tweak the dedicated parameters with just a few clicks. Everything is kept as basic as possible, so there’s support for only a few configuration settings that you can play with.
Main features
CookTimer gives you the possibility to choose between several preset time values (from 3 up to 15 minutes) or manually enter the desired value in hours, minutes, and seconds. What’s more, you are allowed to start, stop, or reset the timer, automatically restart it at the end of the task, as well as activate the loop function.
When the time is up, the app plays a preset sound notification. On the downside, you cannot alter the sound by adding a custom audio file from your computer.
Performance
During our testing we have noticed that CookTimer carries out a task quickly. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not affected.
Bottom line
All in all, CookTimer offers a straightforward software solution for helping you time various activities, and is suitable for all types of users, regardless of their experience level.
