Coordinates Converter Description
Coordinates Converter is an intuitive piece of software that gives you the possibility to convert coordinates in 2D or 3D mode on the fly. Geared toward all types of users, it features approachable options.
No setup necessary, besides .NET Framework
The tool's not packed in a setup kit. Instead, it's wrapped in a single executable file that can be saved to a preferred directory on the disk or copied to a removable storage unit, in order to seamlessly run it on any PC.
It doesn't add new entries to the system registry or create files on the disk without letting you know about it. However, it depends on .NET Framework, so you must have this platform installed.
Simple GUI for performing conversions
As far as the interface is concerned, Coordinates Converter opts for a standard window with a plain and simple structure, where you can pick the conversion mode between 2D and 3D.
In 2D mode, it's possible to convert cartesian to polar (set the X and Y values) or vice versa, (set the r and theta values). When it comes to the 3D mode, you can opt between Cartesian to cylindrical-spherical (set the X, Y and Z values), spherical to Cartesian-cylindrical (set the r, theta and pi values), or cylindrical to Cartesian-spherical (set the r, theta and h values).
Copy converted values
The conversion can be performed with the click of a button. Unfortunately, there are no buttons implemented for printing or exporting the entire information to file. On the other hand, you can select and copy the individual fields.
Coordinates Converter also features a conversion function for turning degrees into radians, and radians into degrees. It works the same as the previously described feature.
Evaluation and conclusion
Tasks were carried out quickly in our tests, during which the program remained light on system resources usage. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash.
Although it doesn't come packed with a particularly rich set of features, Coordinates Converter offers a straightforward solution for performing conversions.
