Corrupt-DOCX-Salvager Description
Text is an important part of using a computer, even if it’s just for temporary tasks. Just like any other files, text documents can get corrupted due to various reasons. Luckily, specialized applications like Corrupt-DOCX-Salvager attempt to recover as much of the damaged text as possible.
Quick installation and clean interface
It only takes a little while for the application to get installed on your computer, and the set of features is yours to test. However, you need to make sure the PC you deploy it on is fitted with .NET Framework for proper functionality, even if recent Windows versions come with the feature bundled.
On the visual side of things, the application stores all of its features in a pretty compact main window, most of which is but an empty text field. All other options are stored in the upper menu bar, but there’s also a context menu fitted with search, edit, and view options.
Leaves more to be desired
Just as the name suggests, the application’s main target is the text document found under the DOCX format, which is the result of using Word. Sadly, you can’t just drag files of interest over the main window, nor can you process more at a time, and you’re forced to use the built-in browse dialog.
However, Corrupt-DOCX-Salvager can’t read all kinds of characters, not even from the file name. Flaws in development require the target file’s name to consist of standard English characters only, otherwise nothing is recovered.
Even if the file is corrupt, chances are text still remain locked inside. The application isn’t capable of successfully performing the core operation all the time. Chances are you don’t even get to see a prompt of any kind after loading a file, also being left with a blank text field.
A few last words
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Corrupt-DOCX-Salvager comes with good intentions and wants to help you recover important documents lost because of various reasons. However, development didn’t seem to go quite as planned, with editing required prior to recovery, while most of the times you’re left scratching your head because of lack of results or prompts of any kind.
