Curtis' Plugin Pack Description
Curtis' Plugin Pack represents a collection of 11 plugins dedicated to Paint.net users, enabling them to explore and apply a wide array of image effects
Easy to set up and access
There are three DLLs available in the downloaded package and all you have to do is copy them to the "Effects" folder of the Paint.net installed directory. It also works if you have a portable version of the photo editor.
If the application's already running, it's necessary to restart it to finalize setup. The new extensions can be found in various submenus of the "Effects" menu and they are marked with a small icon that resembles a puzzle piece, which can be found next to the entry of all external add-ons.
Color picker, image tile, dots, and more
For example, you can configure the settings of a color picker by specifying the RGB and HSV colors, along with the alpha channels, in order to create a color list ("Selective Palette" in "Color" submenu).
Curtis' Plugin Pack also contains an extension capable of creating image tiles, which lets you join edges and adjust the horizontal and vertical repetitions, together with the quality ("Tile Image" in "Distort" submenu).
In addition, you can generate patterns with dots and customize the circle diameter, highlight angle and amount, as well as the background color ("Dots" in "stylize" submenu). Furthermore, the tool can be asked to render normal, parametric and polar equations, Fern fractals, and rounded rectangles.
Evaluation and conclusion
Although all plugins were successfully integrated with the latest edition of Paint.net in our tests, we couldn't get some of them to work. An error kept popping up that asked us to restart Paint.net, but this issue wasn't resolved afterward either. Nevertheless, you can test Curtis' Plugin Pack for yourself.
