Daanav Dual Screen Browser Description
Access to the information superhighways nowadays is less of a concern, but there’s a different temporary problem stalking web surfers, which is the rather high resource usage rate of modern browsers. However, there are tons of alternatives out there fitted with just the right features to focus on speed, and flexibility, just like Daanav Dual Screen Browser.
Two equally split navigation panels
The name pretty much gives in on its little secret, and that it’s main window is split into two browser sections. Unfortunately, they can’t be resized, but they always remain in equal proportion, regardless of the size of the main window.
On the one side, there’s the default home page, with this option read from Internet Explorer configuration. The other panel is a customized Google search engine, but you need to log into your Google account to attempt to use it. Sadly, it’s no longer available, so it just serves as a second navigation panel.
Feels like in early stages of development
It’s all fun and games until you actually start going somewhere. You might end up scratching your head for a while when looking for a spot to write down a URL, because there’s no such field in either of the two sections, not even a general one. As such, browsing always needs to start from the provided pages, or a search engine.
Navigation controls are also missing, and you’re not even able to move back and forth using hotkeys. Tab navigation is not implemented, but you can run multiple instances of the application. Unfortunately, the dual-pane navigation screen is the only feature, with literally nothing else to offer, like history tracker, or bookmarks manager.
In conclusion
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Daanav Dual Screen Browser first needs to work on stability, as well as basic elements of a web browser before it can even qualify for the race. With no control over navigation, the dual-pane navigation system is rather obsolete, while compatibility issues with modern content are sure to make you look for alternatives.
