Debigulator Description

There are different methods of keeping files safe, and a common one is to bundle all of them up in an archive, since malicious content can’t infiltrate it. A large variety of applications can be used to create archives. A suitable example is Debigulator, which is bound to work on more than just Windows PCs.

Can be used on the go

Since you’re not taken through a setup process, you can go ahead and check out the application’s set of features as soon as download is done. However, the application completely relies on Java Runtime Environment to function so you need to make sure it is installed on the computer you plan to use it on.
The only way to create an archive is through the application’s main window, because it doesn’t integrate itself in the context menu for a faster approach. The main window holds all necessary tools you need to select files and set parameters.

Good, but far from being a pro

A navigation panel is there to help you jump to the location of interest. Unfortunately, you need to select files for the archiving process, because folders can’t be added to the list, which has a considerable impact on overall practicality. Note that a save path also needs to be selected because the destination doesn’t show up afterwards.
The application can create only a couple of archive formats, namely ZIP and JAR. Advanced options can be used to append the extension and timestamp to archive names. Unfortunately, there are no compression options to manage, and you need to rely on other methods of extracting content, because it’s not possible with this application.

On an ending note

To sum it up, Debigulator comes with good intentions, especially since it’s not bound to Windows operating systems. However, for the variety of archive types it covers, it takes a little too much time overall, with no compression options, or context menu integration for a faster approach.
