DigitByte MPEG Joiner is a very simplistic software which allows you to merge together video files with the MPG and MPEG formats. It can be easily used by novices.
The interface of the application is based on a standard window in which you can import video clips by using the file browser only, because the "drag and drop" method is not supported.
In the list you can check out the name and file type of each video. So, all you have to do is establish the output filename and directory, in order to proceed with the encoding job.
On top of that, you can move items up and down in the list, remove an item from the queue or clear the entire thing, as well as open the output file.
The lightweight program requires a small amount of system resources, has a good response time, quickly finishes a task and didn't freeze, crash or pop up errors during our tests. The output videos have the original image and sound quality. There's also a brief help file with snapshots that you can look into.
On the other hand, the interface is outdated and there are no advanced settings available. For example, you cannot change audio and video parameters when it comes to the aspect ratio, frame rate, bit rate and sample frequency rate. Even so, we recommend DigitByte MPEG Joiner to all users who prefer a straightforward tool.
