DoOver Description

Day to day activities carried on a computer can become a routine that create frustration, especially if it takes a lot of time. Luckily, there are dozens of specialized applications such as DoOver that give you the possibility to record keyboard and mouse actions and trigger them by pressing a few buttons in order to turn a ten minute task into an instant activity.

Can be used on the go

One main advantage is noticeable as soon as your run the executable file downloaded. It directly launches the application, which means you can also store it on a USB Flash drive to use on the go. As a consequence, system registries remain intact so you don't need to worry about your computer's health status.
The first place you want to look for any signs of the application is the system tray, since there's no interface to work with other than a compact menu. All changes and adjustments are done in an INI file, which is automatically created when you first launch the program. It holds a few well-organized and comprehensive text lines that make everything work and also let you know how and what can be changed.

Easy to use, but limited practicality

To test out functionality you need to use the LCtrl + F12 key combination, which initiates the recording session, while pressing the hotkey again saves it. Hitting LCtrl + F5 runs it, with effects visible almost instantly. Button combinations can be changed in case the default ones are already in use.
Configuring settings doesn't require any programming language, with all you need to write being displayed in the INI file. What's more, when the recording session is in progress, a tooltip is constantly shown next to your mouse cursor displaying coordinates and actions.
However, you're limited to a single activity since you can't create a duplicate of the INI file, nor launch multiple instances of the application. Don't bother adding more commands and changing the trigger keys because only the default action is triggered.

A few last words

To sum it up, DoOver wants to bring a little more comfort when dealing with time-consuming activities, but you only get to choose one so if the application tickles your fancy you need to think it through. Flexibility is amongst its weakest points, even if you can use it on the go, while practicality is dragged along this downward spiral.
