EPS Extractor

EPS Extractor is a feather-light and portable software program that facilitates a fast and simple method for extracting EPS files and raster art from Adobe Illustrator files. It's geared toward all user levels.

Zero-install application

As this is a portable product, you can drop EPS Extractor's executable file in any part of the HDD and just click it to launch the utility.
This is also possible when storing it on a pen drive to run it on any PC and extract EPS files with minimum effort. Unlike most installers, it doesn't change the Windows registry settings.

Simple interface and options

The plain-looking GUI consists of a small window where you can open one or multiple Illustrator files to process. Batch extraction jobs are supported, which means that you can obtain EPS items from multiple files at the same time.
Before doing so, you can modify program preferences regarding the base raster art file and output directory for extracted images. Plus, you can instruct the utility to start in batch mode by default.
Apart from the fact that you can undo actions as well as cut, copy and paste text, there are no other notable options available here.

Evaluation and conclusion

The software utility finished extraction tasks quickly in our tests while remaining low on system performance, consuming low CPU and RAM. It didn't hang, crash or display error notifications.
On the other hand, it features just the basic settings for extracting EPS files and finding raster art, without putting aside any advanced options for more experienced users. Nevertheless, EPS Extractor gets the job done and it's free.
