Computer activity generates temporary files that with time, can end up occupying a significant amount of storage space. Cleaning your computer manually might take some time, but fortunately, there is an application that can give you a helping hand in this matter, namely EraserGui.
EraserGui aims to assist you in getting rid of uncecessary files in your computer without having to perform this tedious operation manually. While it mainly targets temp files, it can also be used for quickly deleting other formats.
Aside from the GUI application, the package also includes a service generator that you can use to implement a periodical cleaning system that can keep your computer free of unwanted files.
EraserGui is the tool that is used for configuring the deletion instructions. You can add as many folder paths as you want, enter the file types to automatically delete and even set the application to automatically remove the empty directories it finds during its scanning.
The program supports recursive searching and enables you to customize the number of days between two consecutive scans.
Once the configuration procedure is completed, you simply have to press the 'Run' button in order to initiate the scan. All the actions are neatly displayed within the log area, enabling you to view the parameters assigned to each event, the number of deleted files and their complete location.
EraserGui is designed for securely cleaning up your hard disk, but it can also prove useful for initiating deletion tasks for any file type. Adding it advanced filtering capabilities (for instance, allowing the user to filter files by creation date) and further scheduling options could really enhance its feature set.
