ExifAuto Description

An image file is not simply a common file that stores and shows you a picture. Inside its code, because everything on a computer is some kind of code, there are various related details that range from size specifications to GPS location. Not all of them have these fields filled in, but for those that do, you can use applications like ExifAuto to change and manage it.

Quick deployment and simple design

The application comes with several advantages and the first one skips you the whole effort of pressing some Next buttons to get it installed. This also means that you can use it from an USB flash drive, and registries are not touched. However, it’s only designed to be an interface for the ExifTool, which needs to be found in C:\Windows.
Just because it’s an interface for a different tool doesn’t mean it has to stand out from the crowd. A simple window layout holds all operations you can perform. Split into categories, you can find options to write, show, remove, rename, and write to file. Each has individual tools that gradually take you through several steps to process an image.

Multiple image file read and write operations

You can’t just drag files over the main window to load them, mostly because this is a step you encounter later on in editing. Each decision you take brings up a different window and discards the previous. In the end, you get to see the ExifTool in action right in a command prompt window.
There’s quite a lot flexibility in terms of operations to perform. As such, you can convert Canon ISO, owner name, and date, to EXIF ISO, artist, as well as original date. Moreover, the application can be used to simply gather data like basic exposure, artist and owner, copyright, dates, ISO, and keywords, but these values can be written to file as well.

In conclusion

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that ExifAuto is a powerful application that takes advantage of ExifTool does by making them easier to use, even by beginners. It might not be what you’d expect in term of visuals. However, processes run smooth and cover almost all area of interest, making this app worth a try.
