Everything revolves around time, or at least everything we do. The computer is sure to provide an accurate reading of time, but you might need to be connected to a specific time zone. Being connected to the Internet offers a great advantage in this regard, but you can also rely on specialized applications like FG Time Sync to fix your computer’s time.

Lightweight and easy to use

The setup process quickly takes you through its steps, letting you take the program for a spin shortly after download. There’s the possibility to launch it right as the installer closes, and you find the application minimized to the tray area, so don’t worry if no window shows up.
Interacting with the tray icon can bring up a slim window. Here you get to configure the time server of interest, which can be selected from an existing list, or you can punch in the address of a new one, which is saved for later use. Unfortunately, some digging needs to be done online, because the application comes with a pretty poor list of servers by default.

Good, but far from being a pro

By default, the application automatically synchronizes the time every now and then, and you can see the last time this is done inside an info field in the main window. There aren’t any notifications in this regard, or the possibility to cancel synchronization.
In case you don’t want to wait for the application to do its job, you can force a synchronization process at the press of a button. Sadly, there’s no default option to make the application run with Windows, but you can bypass this by adding a shortcut inside the system Startup folder.

All things considered, we can state that FG Time Sync is a lightweight tool which can help you synchronize time to a specific online server. The list of servers is rather poor, but once you get the one you need, synchronization can be made entirely automatic.
