flapture Description
flapture is a lightweight application built specifically for helping users take screenshots from FLV files.
It boasts a clean and intuitive layout that allows you to configure the dedicated parameters with minimum effort.
The program gives you the possibility to upload files into the working environment using the built-in browse function, so you cannot rely on “drag and drop†operations.
You cannot add individual items to the list, so you should make sure the selected folder contains the exact FLV files.
What’s more, you can play, pause, or stop the current video selection, adjust the volume, and seek for a position in the video streams.
In order to take the screenshots with the desired frame, you are required to specify the saving directory. By default, the utility saves the screenshots to JPG file format.
Another notable characteristic worth mentioning is represented by the possibility to enable the automatic capturing mode for making the utility take a picture of each FLV as a batch process.
The lack of configurable settings can be good news for rookies, as they can master the entire process with minimum effort. On the downside, it hasn’t been updated for a while, so it may cause compatibility issues on newer operating systems.
As it would be expected from such a small utility, it remains light on system resources, so it doesn’t hamper the overall performance of the computer, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality.
To sum things up, flapture seems to be the right choice in case you are looking for a simple-to-use application that helps you save the frames from FLV items to JPG file format.
