FNOWare Password Generator Description
Lots of online services require and enforce the use of strong passwords in their users' login credentials.
This is a good thing, seeing how privacy is an important issue. Generating strong passwords however, does not come easy to most users.
Software solutions such as FNOWare Password Generator can help users generate strong passwords at the click of a button.
An easy to use application
Installing and running the application is very easy. It requires no configuration to use. Simply run it and start generating passwords.
The main window of the application features six check buttons that enable users to select the length of the password string. Passwords of six, eight, ten, twelve, sixteen and twenty characters long can be generated with the aid of this program.
Once the desired length of the password has been selected, users can click the Generate Password button and view the result in the dedicated box.
A lack of features
Though creating passwords using FNOWare Password Generator is very easy, the process does have its shortcomings.
First of all, the length of the resulting strings cannot be customized. While few users would find a use for a password longer than 20 characters, the ability to create passwords shorter than 6 characters, or an odd number of characters would be welcomed by most. The decision to limit user choice to six values seems arbitrary.
Second, the content of the passwords cannot be customized. The application does not provide a way for users to specify which characters can be used when generating a string. Nor can it generate multiple passwords at once in order to provide the user with a set to choose from.
Conclusion
This is a small and easy to use application, however its usefulness severely is limited by its lack of customization options and features.
