FoldShot

FoldShot is a software tool that was designed specifically to aid people in visually comparing XML documents, by opening them alongside each other.

Portability conveniences

This application is portable, which means that the installation process is not a must. You can copy the program files to any location on the hard drive and run it by simply double-clicking the executable. Furthermore, if you move the last mentioned files to a pen drive, it is possible to use FoldShot on the fly, on any PC you can connect to.
You should also know that it will not create new files or other items on the hard drive or in the Windows registry (as installers usually do), and no traces will be left behind after its removal.

Clean interface and comparing files

The interface you come by sports a design which can only be described as plain and simple. It only includes a few buttons and two panels to help you view the uploaded items. Both power and novice users can find their way around it, without experiencing any kind of difficulties.
In order to add XMLs to this tool, you are required to use the built-in file browser, as the “drag and drop” function is not integrated. Aside from that, it comes bundled with a few examples, so that you can see how comparing works and you can show only differences or the entire contents of the two items.

To conclude, FoldShot is a simple, yet efficient piece of software which can be used by anybody. It does not hinder the system’s performance, the response time is good and our tests did not pick up on any errors or crashes.
