fPlayer Description
fPlayer is a lightweight audio player that is capable of organizing audio files into playlists. In addition to that, it allows you to watch video files. You need to have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 deployed on your computer in order to run the program correctly.
Clean feature lineup
The tool sports an intuitive layout that allows you to add files in the working environment using the built-in browse button (the drag-and-drop support is not implemented).
fPlayer works with different audio formats, such as MP3, OGG, WAV, and FLAC. In addition, you are allowed to import the content of an entire folder to the list. Video files can also be added in the main window. The utility offers support for MP4, WMV, AVI, MPG, MOV, 3GP, WEBM, and RMVB file format.
Playback capabilities
fPlayer gives you the possibility to create a ‘quick list’ with songs. You can check out only a few details about each audio file, such as name of the song, artist, and title.
What’s more, you are allowed to play, pause, or stop the current audio selection, adjust the volume, go backward or forward, jump to the next or previous song from the list, shuffle the current song, repeat the song or entire list, as well as view the total and remaining time.
Other important options worth being mentioned enable you to create user-defined playlists, check out a spectrum, work with an equalizer, change the pitch and tempo, reverse playback, mix both audio channels, and apply echo effects.
You may also edit metadata (title, artist, and album) and store lyrics information. The tool eats up a moderate amount of system resources so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered. On the downside, we have experienced several bugs on Windows 8.1 upon importing audio files from folders.
Bottom line
All things considered, fPlayer comes packed with basic features for helping you listen to songs and watch videos. The intuitive design makes it suitable especially for less experienced users.
