Player is a program that enables you to play audio and video files of various formats, including ASF, AVI, MP4, MPG and WMV. It enables you to work with playlists and load content from online streams, as well as edit MP3 tags in a straightforward fashion.

Supports drag and drop and allows you to manage playlists

The interface of the application is based on a user-friendly window in which you can easily navigate. Media files can be imported into the list via the file browser or "drag and drop" method.
So, you can play, pause and stop tracks, create and save playlists, go to the next or previous track, as well as navigate back and forth within the clip.

Offers multiple interface layouts and skins for you to choose from

You can toggle between Micro, Brief, Medium and Editor mode at any time, depending on how many functions you need to have access to and how much screen space you have to spare.
Additionally, it is possible to open a URL, access recently played files, generate a HTML playlist and edit MP3 file tags.
Moreover, you can change the size of the video window, switch to full screen mode, remove duplicates from a playlist, configure player settings (e.g. make file associations), set the transparency level for the interface, view elapsed or remaining time, enable repeat or shuffle mode, and others.

Lightweight application that could use some improvements

The media player requires a moderate amount of system resources, has a very good response time and didn't freeze, crash or pop up errors during our tests. Everything ran smoothly. However, the interface needs some major improvements since it is outdated.
Also, you cannot load subtitles or configure image settings (e.g. brightness, contrast, saturation). All in all, Player is a decent media player but we mainly recommend it (with reservations) to users who prefer a straightforward software solution.
