TALARa Description
If you’re not always connected to the Internet, chances are you have all your favorite songs saved on your PC. Needless to say that you need an application which can play them. The market is overwhelmed with choices, and in case you’re looking for something new, then TALARa might just make the cut.
Cool interface quickly gets you up and running
It takes only a little while to get the application installed on your computer. Just make sure that .NET Framework is already on your computer to be able to enjoy it, although this isn’t really the case with modern Windows iterations, including it in the default set of features.
As far as the visual design is concerned, the application makes a good first impression through a custom-made, stylish design which relies on high-quality textures and cool animations for playback and display of info. One part of the interface holds all playback controls and info fields, while the other is the playlist manager.
Playback operations and extra tools
Files can either be added by dropping them over the playlist, or using the browse dialogs to pick one or more files, or the content of an entire directory at once. Unfortunately, file support isn’t really that good, and you’re only able to enjoy those songs under formats like MP3, WAV, and WMA, while playlists need to be either M3U, or TAL, the application’s own format.
Hotkey commands aren’t implemented, but you do benefit from support in case you’re using a multimedia keyboard. There are up to six slots you can use to set favorite songs. Playback enhancements come in the form of shuffle and repeat. Additionally, you can look up lyrics online at the press of a button, with your web browser being brought up with results.
In conclusion
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that TALARa is a decent choice if you’re looking for a lightweight, but cool audio player. It’s fitted with various playback operations, and five favorite slots for your songs. The only downside to the whole operation is the rather poor file support.
