Freezer Web Access

Freezer Web Access is a Windows CAD application whose purpose is to help researchers set up a system for storing frozen biological samples. It is specialized in keeping inventory and tracking samples.

Web-driven GUI

The program can be accessed and controlled via a web-based interface. You can open it via your preferred web browser, be it Chrome, Firefox, Opera, or another one.
In order to gain access to the tool’s features, you need to specify your username and password. The app comes with support for a list of batches and samples that you can make use of for understanding how the information is structured in the database.

Database management options

Freezer Web Access helps you look for vials and samples in the system, save the search queries, submit a new sample batch, import 2D barcode files, and create virtual containers that fit the configuration and dimensions of physical storage containers.

The tool lets you view all samples that are in the process of being shipped between locations, resubmit samples, attach Word, Excel, and PDF files, images, as well as text items to batches, shipments or samples.
You can keep track of freezers, add vials to a batch, remove vials, cut and paste vials, and navigate throughout a built-in calendar for viewing a list of notifications.

Requests and statistics

Freezer Web Access allows you to submit requests and send email notifications to shipping personnel, and generate vials usage line charts for different sites.
