Most information nowadays is obtained with just a few mouse click on the information superhighway. Sure enough, a browser is required to be able to access the Internet, but there are also desktop enhancements for a faster approach. In this regard, GoogleSearch brings a small search field on the desktop to quickly perform Google search operations.
Before the advantages of GoogleSearch can be fully enjoyed, Yahoo! Widget Engine needs to be installed on the target PC. Integration into the widget engine requires little time, and effort, with the gadget showing up on screen once this is done.
It’s designed to resemble a regular search field found in most web browsers, with the Google logo displayed right before the search field, all wrapped around a slim floating bar. Related options make it possible to change the language of search results online, or clear the input field after each operation. Choosing to search for a specific text string brings up the default web browser, with results shown on a Google page.
Additionally, the gadget benefits from the default set of configurations provided by Yahoo! Widget Engine. These can be tweaked to adjust transparency level, set window priority to below, normal, or above every other window, ignore mouse, or prevent it from being dragged around the desktop.
