Hacker Browser Description
Hacker Browser is a lightweight Windows web browser that comes packed with popup filters, favorites list, as well as history, cookies and cache cleaning options.
Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry. You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to search on the Internet without having to go through installation steps.
Compared to other powerful web browsers on the market (e.g. Firefox, Chrome, Opera) which like to keep things as clean as possible when it comes to surfing on the Internet, Hacker Browser features the multi-tabbed GUI of a regular application.
For all users accustomed to working with a well-organized layout that offers quick access to the well-known classical options, such as “File,†“Edit,†“View,†“Favorites,†“Groups,†“Tools,†the web browsing experience should be a pleasant one.
Hacker Browser gives you the possibility to enable the “Work Offline†mode, perform basic editing operations (cut, copy, paste, find), zoom in or out of the current webpage, select the encoding method, increase or decrease text size, and customize the layout to meet your web browsing requirements (e.g. hide or reveal the favorites or history bar).
What’s more, the tool lets you open files with different formats (HTML, GIF, JPEG, AU, AIFF, XBM, TXT), print the current webpage or send it via email, and import or export favorites list, feeds, and cookies from the specified URL.
It is important to mention that hotkeys are also available for a better control over the entire process, and you can organize your favorite websites into different folders, create groups which contain multiple URLs and make the program run the web contents at Windows startup, as well as set up popup filters by creating whitelists and blacklists with user-defined websites and choosing the protection level (strict, normal, or loose).
Last but not least, you can clean the history, cookies, and cache data, set up proxy parameters, view a list the websites recently closed or visited, and enable or disable ActiveX, sounds, scripts, animations, or Flash files.
Another useful feature worth mentioning is represented by the possibility to open the web browser with a simple double-click on a small floating window, which can be moved to any area of the desktop. Plus, a right-click on the aforementioned pane reveals several configuration settings which can be applied with minimum effort.
All in all, Hacker Browser offers very good browsing speed but it eats up CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the system may be affected.
