Image.Viewer Description
Image.Viewer is a program with a name that pretty much sums up its purpose - it allows you to view image files. The tool supports several extensions, including BMP, GIF, ICO, JPG, PNG and TIF.
The interface of the application is based on a standard window and has a clean layout with minimal elements. Image files can be imported with the help of the file browser, since the 'drag and drop' functionality is not included.
From the main menu you can copy the current image to the Clipboard, export it to PNG or XPS, as well as print it. A brief help file can be found online by loading it from the 'About' screen.
In the 'View' tab you can zoom in and out, reset the zoom mode, rotate the picture left and right, as well as flip images. Unfortunately, there is no right-click menu available.
The lightweight application runs on a moderate-to-high amount of system resources, which is a bit far-stretched, considering its limited features. You cannot even navigate through all the pictures found in the same location, let alone make image adjustments (e.g. grayscale, sepia, contrast, saturation).
But Image.Viewer has a good response time and works well on all Windows versions. We haven't come across any issues during our tests; the program did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. All in all, Image.Viewer represents the simplest solution to viewing pictures. Thanks to its user-friendly layout, even inexperienced users can quickly adapt to this environment.
