IP Detector

IP Detector is a lightweight Windows application designed to show the current IP and the network status, while also offering a logging tool to keep an eye on any possible change that may occur.
Especially useful in case your ISP changes your IP every time you connect, IP Detector is quite an easy to use program, as it boasts a rather limited number of options.
With three tabs presented right in the main window, the application shows the current IP and the network status, thus letting you know if the Internet access is granted or not.
Much more information can be obtained from the “Log” tab that shows the assigned IP at any given time, while also providing very easy to use search features for the recorded activity.
You can for instance look back for the IP your computer used to access the Internet a few days ago, but keep in mind that IP Detector needs to be running all the time to log IP changes.
There are only a couple of options to play with, but for the best results it’s very important to enable the app load at Windows startup, just to make sure it logs the IP as soon as you connect to the Internet.
The help section is absolutely useless because it provides only a few lines of information concerning the program, but chances are that you don’t need a manual to figure out how to use the program.
Although it’s pretty clear that IP Detector still needs a lot of improvements, it could still come in handy to many users out there. It’s very friendly with hardware resources and runs very well regardless of the Windows version installed on a system.
